Nuova Simonelli Appia Life, based on the tried and true Appia format, is ideal for those wanting reliable performance but in a more cost-efficient and compact foot-print. Improved features of the Appia LIFE include easier serviceability with improved energy savings and a 20% lower environmental impact (based on an independent Life Cycle Assessment analysis).

With it's new even more appealing full colour body panel design and improved brew groups & shot control buttons, as well as the addition of the new XT Series, the Appia Life has more options than ever before. Still standard are features like soft infusion, powerful steam with push-pull controls, cool-touch wands with steam tips ideal for micro-foaming, and programmable back-flushing. Available in 3 models - Semi-Automatic, Volumetric, and XT - and 4 sizes - 1-Group, 2-Group Compact, 2-Group Full-Size, and 3-Group.

Appia Life Semi-Automatic

i) Semi-Automatic: The base version, the Semi-Automatic can keep up with average drink volumes but the operation depends a lot more on the skill and attention of the barista to monitor shot lengths for every cup. With this model a separate timer or scale would be recommended for consistency. Semi-Automatics also have no programming options or the possibility of adding the EasyCream automatic steam wand option.

Recommended for: entry-level equipment budgets, remote locations out of the range of regular service providers

Appia Life Volumetric

This version allows the barista to program 4 espresso shot volumes per group, allowing for much more consistent volume every time. Shots are not only more consistent between different users, there is also more time for the barista to interact with customers or begin another order since there is no need to monitor the espresso as carefully. Volumetrics also allow for an EasyCream automatic steam wand option.

Recommended for: restaurants, small cafes, bakeries, hotels, offices or locations with less experienced baristas

Appia Life XT Series

These models are Volumetric machines, but also includes the addition of LED worklights, and a TFT Digital Display with PID (to easily program espresso shot dosages, brightness levels, maintenance features, on/off times, and drink counters as well as access to PID settings to adjust overall steam pressure in the main boiler). The TFT also displays espresso shot times, eliminating the need for external timers.

Recommended for: medium-sized cafes, restaurants, larger bakeries, hotels, offices or locations with less experienced baristas

The Appia Life Series includes: 1-Group version with 1 hot water spout and 1 steam wand; 2-Group Compact, 2-Group Full-Size, and 3-Group versions each with 1 hot water spout and 2 steam wands. Each model is available in Volumetric or Semi-Automatic. EasyCream steam wands can replace one regular steam wand on any Volumetric version.

Steam Wands

All Appia Life versions & models (not Semi-Automatic) can be purchased with 1 automatic steam wand (additional charge applies).

The EasyCream Automatic Micro-Foaming System replaces the manual steam handle with a button. Once pressed, the modified wand steams in a unique angular direction while monitoring the temperature with an integrated probe, so it knows:

➡️ When to start & stop injecting air for perfect microfoam, and

➡️ When to stop steaming for standardized milk temperature

EasyCream requires no input from the barista to perfectly texture the milk; the barista simply places the wand in the pitcher of cold milk and when it reaches the desired (programmed) temperature the steam automatically turns off, leading to a consistent drink, regardless of the skill-level of the barista. The XT model has a digital display giving you shot times, maintenace, steam temperature (with easy cream).
