MicroCasa a Leva

Elektra MicroCasa a Leva is a traditional piston machine with turn-of-the-century styling available in three gleaming metal finishes to complement any décor.

The original lever system, still favoured in Naples and in southern Italy, allows the barista to manually control the pre-infusion time for every espresso: when the lever is down, the hot water enters the group, pre-soaking the coffee – the longer a barista keeps the lever down, the longer the pre-infusion. A skilled barista waits for the first drops of coffee to pour out of the spout before allowing the lever to return to the mid-point where the water pressure takes over and returns it to the starting point. Simple and reliable, this method has been in use since the late 1940’s and has recently come back into favour among baristas all over the world.
